  • Essex Meadows-Hamilton Hall 30 Bokum Road Essex, CT, 06426 United States (map)

Essex Historical Society and Essex Meadows present History Hour. This program features a speaker, author, presenter, or musician once a month.

History hour is FREE and open to the public. We recommend arriving to Hamilton Hall by 9:50 am. as seating is available first-come, first-served. No need to register for this event. In the unlikely event that the program changes or needs to be canceled, please check EHS social media and website.

EHS Director Melissa Josefiak returns to Essex Meadows for an illustrated presentation on the rich history of the E.E. Dickinson Witch Hazel company.

This Essex-based business with a global reach dominated the production of witch hazel in the late 19th and most of the 20th century, successfully adapting to changes in American industry and marketing.   She will bring MANY samples of E.E. Dickinson bottles and marketing for the audience to examine up close.
